About God

We believe in the one true, holy and living God, who is the creator of all that exists. God is infinite in power, wisdom, justice, goodness and love. We believe the one God is revealed as Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

About Human Beings

Human beings are created in the image of God. This means that God created humans with a special capability to both relate to God and to be like God in character. This characteristic in humans has been marred because of willful disobedience toward God called sin. Sin has strained our relationship with God and the rest of creation.

About Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the Messiah of Israel, the Son of God, and the Savior of the world. In Jesus, God and humanity are united, as Jesus is both fully divine as the second person of the Trinity, and fully human as born of the Virgin Mary. Through his death on the cross, Jesus removes the barrier of sin that has separated us from God, and through his resurrection from the dead, destroys the power of death. Jesus ascended into heaven forty days after his resurrection and will return to earth again at the end of history.

About the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, who lives in all who accept God’s offer of healing and life through faith in Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit is active in the world, in the church in the life of the Christian. The Holy Spirit draws persons to faith in Christ, seals that faith through assurance, and equips the believer to share God’s love with the world.

About the Bible

We believe the Bible reveals the Word of God to us. It was written by human authors under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and is authoritative for establishing all that we believe and practice.

About the Church

We affirm the one, holy, universal and apostolic church. The church is made up of all true believers in the Triune God and exists under the Lordship of Christ. The church is the Body of Christ, and is responsible for carrying out the mission of Jesus in the world. While we affirm there is one church, we acknowledge baptism from the three major streams of Christianity – Protestant, Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox.
